Chapa is the old name of Sapa: This town was born in 1905, when the French discovered this was an ideal place to build a resort and did so. The name "Sa Pa" is an inherent name in the H'Mong language of this area, meaning "sand beach", the French wrote the name of the area as "Chapa", because the "S" sound is pronounced as hard as "Ch" in English. French and “S” in standard Vietnamese. The remaining traces of the region's name are Sa Pa ward today.
The word “Ecolodge” has appeared since the 90s in Vietnam, used to refer to accommodation establishments that have the least harmful impact on the environment as possible. The facility is located in a natural environment and brings many benefits to surrounding local residents.
